Project background
A supplier of industrial gases commissioned JEM to cleanse their customer database. The campaign consisted of four key objectives:
1. Ensure that our client held an up to date sales contact
2. Collect an email address
3. Permission to receive phone calls, email and postal marketing communications.
4. Using the client own interpretation of SIC Codes (Standard Industry Classification Codes) agree with the customer which best described the nature of the customers’ business
Before the campaign launch, a detailed plan was agreed upon and documented to include the following key areas: scripting, questionnaire design, data quotas and requirements and format of all data returns.
Project execution and results
JEM's specialist data cleansing team executed the campaign. This dedicated team comprises full time, trained and salaried specialist callers and managers and overseen by an independent quality control department.
Datasets were segmented as required before calling to allow data management and detailed reporting. From an initial brief, JEM created scripts, and as a result, a micro-pilot final script was agreed and signed off, which enabled our team to optimise the results and data integrity.
After identifying any gone-aways from a base of 50,000 records, a core dataset of 43,084 customers remained. The team at JEM made up to 3 call attempts to connect with customers and, as a result of JEM successfully managed to validate and gain permission marketing from 31,964 companies which were over 74% of all the customers connected.
